Re: vRealize Operations Manager vSphere Web Client plugin does not work!

Thanks buddy. In fact, I had to do that to solve the issue, but I removed the previous configuration before. I had to open https://<vcenter IP>/mob, locate the old vCenter Operations Manager 5.8 configuration in Contents, ExtensionManager and UnregisterExtesion "com.vmware.vcops". After that, I did the same way like you said and done! Thanks for your help.

Datastore High Latency on a Host with no VM

$

We have 15 LUN all shared to 7 hosts. We noticed that only one host has bad disk performance (high datastore write latency). The host has very light loading (no VM on it) while others have heavier loading than it. However, only the host has disk performance issue (with 30 - 40 ms write latency to those LUN but at the same time the other hosts have no latency issue). I can't figure out why only the host has the disk performance issue for the same LUN..

storage vmotion esxi 5.5 to 6.0 not working for some vm

$

In a test-cluster with 2 nodes with no shared storage (local only) storage vmotion from 5.5 host to 6.0 host is not working.

before the upgrade I moved all vm to one host.

Then I upgraded the host to 6.0 and tried to move all vm to the updated 6.0 host (move host + storage).

From 20 vm 5 were moved to the new host.

All others get always below error.

The Client VM are all vm version 10 (but some of them upgraded from 8 or 9).

ClientOS Windows 2008, 2012 r2 and linux. Some with vmx3, some with e1000.

The machines can be moved when powered off.

After the off-vmotion, storage vmotion from 6 to 5.5 and back 5.5 to 6 is working again.

Any Idea to fix this issue? Maybe this is a bug with vsphere 6.0

Since some machines were working and later vmotion back and forth from 6.0 to 5.5 is working, I believe this is no configuration error.

Thanks for the reply, I installed PowerCLI 6 and ran your sample code and it finishes connecting to vCenter but doesn't do anything after that.

Virtualized VT-x/EPT would only be necessary for another level of nesting. You have apparently checked the box next to "expose hardware assisted virtualization to the guest operating system."  You should uncheck that box..

If you are using windows in Full Screen mode  ( View > Full Screen ) try enabling this option

http://www.itsecurenet.com/virtualbox-ova-to-vsphere-ovf/ I used this < URL, in addition as per suggestion above I doubled the ovf capacity as per item 5.

So in summary.

1. Use URL above to convert OVA file to OVF files (ovf txt file and all the VMDK disk files) using VMware ovftool

2. Use the FCIV tool in the article

3. Edit the OVF txt file to DOUBLE the ovf:capacity - otherwise u get error msgs about disk capacity

4. Replacing Oracle_64 with Linux in the ovf txt file tidies things up a little too.

Re: Average Memory Utilization

Over which period of time do you want to get this utilisation ?

In any case, you could do something like this, just remember to adapt the content of the $start variable

$clusterName='MyCluster'

$start= (Get-Date).AddHours(-1)

$stat='mem.usage.average'

$vms=Get-VM-Location (Get-Cluster-Name$clusterName)

Get-Stat-Entity$vms-Stat$stat-Start$start-ErrorActionSilentlyContinue|

Group-Object-Property {$_.Enity.Name} |

SelectName,

  @{N='MemoryGB';E={$_.Group[0].Entity.MemoryGB}},

  @{N='NumCpu';E={$_.Group[0].Entity.NumCpu}},

  @{N='AverageRAMUsage';E={

    [math]::Round(($_.Group[0]|Measure-Object-PropertyValue-Average|Select-ExpandPropertyAverage),2)

  }}

Do you notice any specific differences between working VM and not-working one?  Like

VM Tools version

Disk controller

OS versions

It looks as if you didn't connect to a vSphere server (ESXi or vCenter).

Did you do a Connect-VIServer ?

You can check this by displaying the content of $global:defaultviserver

Did you update the variables at the beginning of the script to reflect your environment ?

Did you check with Get-Job and Receive-Job what the jobs did ?

Default volume got malfunctioned

$

Hi all,

I installed Mirage 5.3 a week ago, I connected a Win 8.1 machine to the mirage and centralized that endpoint. The CVD is stored in a volume (the path used is a UNC path) But two days ago, volume got malfunctioned. Am unable to mount or unmount it. For safety, I copied the volume to another disk drive in the same machine. The size of the volume used, is twice that of CVD. I used load balancer for two Mirage servers with two different amounts of local cache (To check how the servers are utilized ).  One fo the mirage servers has only some MBs left with.

I read the Mirage 5.3 documentation center, where it's mentioned to run the SIS integrity tool.

But am not clear with

          1. What is the cause of malfunction?

           2.What is SIS integrity tool?

           3. How does it help me to troubleshoot the error?

           4. How to run the tool?

Do anyone have better idea to overcome the situation?

          Thanks in Advance.
